Cohan Clan: Wachau Valley and Melk, Austria

We spent a day cruising the beautiful Wachau Valley of Austria and visiting Melk. It was a little cool and breezy, but we bundled up and took in the scenery from the ship's sundeck.

Cohan Clan: Cesky Krumlov

We visited this cute, little town in-route from Prague to Linz, Austria (where we boarded the ship). The visit ended with a traditional meal at the town's brewery. After a few cold, rainy days in Prague, we welcomed the good weather.

We never let an opportunity for an amusing photo slide.

Prague Astronomical Clock: This clock has an interesting history. You can read about it at

Some pictures from the Jewish Quarter: The most amazing experience on this day was touring one of the synagogues with a woman who was in her 80's. She grew up in the area and survived the Nazi occupation. Her explanations and stories came straight from the heart and it was truly moving.

A cemetary behind one of the synagogues. People were buried on top of each other.

Ask any person from Czech Rep. and they will proudly remind the Americans that "Budweiser" originated in Czech. There, it's known as Budvar. It's probably not the best example of Czech beer, but much better than the American version.

The Cohan Clan Cruises Through Central Europe

Rick's parents came to visit in September. They spent two weeks touring around with us and then took a jaunt down to the South of France for 5 days to visit some friends. We spent the first couple of days in Belgium (Brussels, Bruges, Ghent, Durbuy) and then took off for Prague, where we stayed for 3 days before boarding a ship on the Danube River. We cruised through Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, and Hungary. The cruise ended in Budapest, where we spent 3 days before heading back to Brussels.

We had a lot of fun and some good adventures, but I'll let the pictures tell the story.
